Greetings from Charleston

Hello Scubaboard! I’ve been diving for over 20 years. You know the one or two trips a year. I’ve always enjoyed it, but never did a lot of diving in any year. I had a chance to spend five weeks in Key West this spring/summer and realized I need to get under the water more often. I’m now a volunteer diver at the South Carolina Aquarium. It’s fun, free, and scratches the itch. For anyone in the Charleston area they are looking for more volunteer divers.

Ditto to what litefoot said! I haven’t dived SC in (too) many years. I now have a niece, who I used to dive with, living with husband and family in Mount Pleasant. I’m hoping to get her to reactivate after all these years so we can dive together again.
How far offshore do you have to go for good diving?

I have not dove off South Carolina. Folks I've spoken to around here say it's very meh. They say go to North Carolina or to Florida.
