Boy I wish you would have found the boards a little quicker. I used to come to Wilmington a couple times a year and go out diving with Aquatic Safaries. I always wished I could have found a local to show me around the places the regular dive boats don't visit as much. But it wasn't too bad, I never really encountered the big cattle boats and the like that one usually finds around places like the Keys and I had some good dives there.
