I want to start diving, I have never dived before. I am going to the Grand Cayman's in September. Can anyone inform me the best way to get started where it will not make me take out a second mortgage on my house. I think I will love diving and I think this is a good time to start. I would appreciate tips from anyone

If you've never dove before, your best bet is to contact
a local dive shop on the Island and ask them about a
Discover SCUBA class.
The class will give you some basic information/knowledge
about scuba and give you chance to hit a pool with a
tank on your back.
Later it also allows you one dive with a Instructor in open water.
This way you'll know if you really do enjoy diving.
Once you've done that, you'll need to find a good Instructor
whom you like and will teach you in a way that you can learn.
It will cost you a few bucks, so get ready for that as well...
Hope that you enjoy diving - early welcome to the wonderful
world of diving!!!

November is some time away. I would suggest doing the Open Water Certification. Why go to Grand Cayman and spend time that you could be diving doing your classwork. I understand that many people do all of their class and pool work. Then they go on vacation and do their check out dives for their certification. The more of the training you get done, the more time you can spend enjoying the diving at Grand Cayman. Training you can get almost anywhere.
