The other day the Lionfish Elimination Team of Curacao was let in to the Habitat property by manager Rien Boom who has been arranging with home owners for us to get access to their private beaches for Lionfish control efforts. The owner and inventor of The Zookeeper LCU, my stepson, and myself cleaned up 171 fish off their reef in an afternoon. They got into a great swarm and posted a GoPro video of the event:

Thanks Habitat and Rein Boom!

WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW. All I can say is WOW!!!!

I have never, ever seen so many lionfish concentrated in one area. I did not see any other fish in the video unless I was just fixated on the crazy amount of lionfish.

With that level of concentration I suspect there is a lot more work to be done. Good job on the harvest and the video. :thumb:

My wife and I are coming to Curacao in May. Would we be able to help in the harvesting of the lionfish in any way? We tried to make it down to one of the rallys in Florida this year but were unable.

Sounds good. I'll keep checking to see if anything has changed. Would like to help out if possible!

Same issue with Aruba. You can't even get a lion tamer into the country and the shops are having a real hard time getting them in. What a shame. Will have to fabricate your own.....
