While they are usually a cooler water species, they will enter tropical waters. Perhaps the most prolific white shark fishery was off Long Island. They have been tracked travelling from California to Hawaii following the cooler bottom water, so it certainly plausible that they do the same between New England down to Florida. One buzzed and even broke the deep sea submersible here in Hawaii.
