Hubby & I headed up to Tobermory for a quick dive trip Aug 16 & 17.
We stayed at the Blue Bay Motel - nice place, diver friendly and overlooking the harbour. There is a rinsing hose & plenty of lines to dry stuff.
First dive was shore - The Tugs. We had planned to do the Lighthouse, but it was very rough and we figured correctly the Tugs would be more sheltered.
Aug 17 we dove with Diver's Den - second year we've dove with them & they're good. You call up and tell them what dives you want, if you're the first to call for that day, everyone else does what you want to do. We used Nitrox due to the number of dives & they blended it to our requirements, though one tank was only 1000psi at pickup, thankfully I"ve lifted enough tanks this summer that I could tell that before we were on the boat.
We're OW and as a result chose some shallow stuff, the Truellyn, Minch, Caroline Rose & the Caves. The morning two dives, we had Captain Tracy & the boat (Bruce Isle) all to ourselves - wow !!! Afternoon two dives an insta buddy joined us, so not very crowded to say the least.
Viz was best at the Caves (of course) and the Caroline Rose though all were great viz for Ontario. Temps were around 52 for the sites ... enough to turn my lips blue by dive 3 & have some water seep into my mouth .... whoops.
Dinner choices were all awesome - Tacos at The Fish & Chip Place & pizza from Delrozzio (sorry if the name is wrong) that was next to the Fish & Chip place.
As we said last year, we'll be back !
