Just thought I would let everyone know that the Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival will be taking place February 22nd at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Mich. One of the featured seminars just happens to be "Introduction to DIR"
by Jarrod Jablonski himself. Since this subject has been bantered
about repeatedly on this board, I thought it would be well worth
my while to attend the festival for this seminar alone, and to find
out first hand what this subject is all about. There will be other
worthwhile presentations as well.

For more information, visit the Ford Seahorses website at :
www.fordseahorses.org and click on the festival link.

I hope all the board members close enough in the midwest, and
in Canada will be able to attend this festival.

There's at least 3 of us from this board that will be there, including our newest GUE instructors!

Even though I recorded the Britannic Expedition when it aired on Discovery Channel, I really wanted to see Jarrod's Britannic presentation at the festival. Unfortunately, I will be in Florida that week. Bad timing I guess. He comes north, I go south.

DD,
What's up with the "name dropping"? You're such a "brown nose" :potty:

:gjoker: wb

Name dropper? I didn't even mention Brandon and Scot. I just said our new GUE instructor (and provisional instructor). I would never hint that Brandon and Scot would be there.:jack:

But now that you mention it, Brandon and Scot will be there also.

Jack,

Maybe we should set up a booth for the Midwest DIR group at the festival. We could start assimilating new converts right on the spot.

Yea. Some handcuffs, velcro, chains. We could trap 'em and not let them go until they were fully assimilated.

Don't forget the DIR kool-aid as they'll need "refreshments" after their heads start to spin! :out:

I'm sorry that I won't be able to make it up there this time to meet you guys in person. Guess that'll have to happen at Gilboa sometime. There might be a few from Indy heading up.

We have a lot of fellow divers in our local dive club that are becoming very curious about DIR now that a bunch of us have taken Fundies classes and are getting out gear configured properly. The booth would be a great way to spread the gospel.
