Is there such a place (preferably in the Caribbean but not limited to) that has great diving locations as well as fly fishing spots teaming with fish or does this mystical place merely exist in the far reaches of my mind?

We caught 6 bonefish one morning in Cozumel last fall. The entire NW area of the island is mostly mangrove flats. Best I recall we saw 10-12 schools with 10-40 fish per school.

This place is one the best for both:
Turneffe Island Lodge
I hear they even accept Army personnel. ;)

About 10 minutes from my house. All around here is good diving and bonefish, tarpon and permit fishing. Those fish are for the high tech, carbon fibered fly fishermen. But if you're a relocated ex hillbilly like me, you can just drop a shrimp over the side with an Ugly Stik and reel and get snappers, jacks and groupers too. Come and check it out. Make it home safe. I guess that makes me a hillbilly then since i know what an "Ugly Stik" is. I might even own one or two. ;)

you can get both here in Cancun too.

I will pm you a mate of mine that owns a fishing op.

The true test if you're a hillbilly/redneck is if you buy one for your wife/girlfriend for Christmas or her birthday. Don't ask.....Ok, I did.

Some people haven't?

How about great salt water diving and great fresh water fly fishing?? Puget sound diving in the Hood Canal or Strait of Juan de Fuca, and fly fish for Steelhead/salmon/trout in the Olympic National Forest.

Little Cayman might qualify. I know zip about fishing, but I've heard it's good.
