We were a bit leery after reading the projected forecast the night before but when we got to Winter Island, the seas were flat and there was very little wind. We motored out to the beds and dropped the cabled camera over the side to mark the start and end of it and found scallops all over the screen
Dive #1 produced 3 full bags and dive #2 produced 5 full bags. At the end of dive #2, one of my buddies developed a severe headache, nausea and blurred vision that turned out to be dehydration so we headed for the landing to be closer to an ER if needed. I started an IV, high flow O2 and got a liter of fluid into him by the time we got back to the landing and he perked right up (It pays to have all of us be Paramedics). Once we got tied up to the dock and the Normal Saline/O2worked their magic, he felt fine but we decided to not risk it by heading back out and doing some bug hunting. We shucked the scallops and headed home tired but relieved that the headache was only a headache.
