I'm in the early stages of planning a trip (my first) to Australia in 2016. I've got 2-3 weeks and want to (of course) dive the Great Barrier Reef. Anyone have any suggestions for Liveaboards? Something in the 7-10 day trip range would be ideal. The operator also needs to have full support for re-breathers. Thanks!

The two best known liveaboards in the GBR area (Coral Sea) are Spirit Of Freedom and Mike Ball's Spoilsport. I have been on neither but have dived in the Great Barrier Reef. I went on a 3-day liveaboard in 2006 - cannot recall the name of the boat and thought that the diving was good but nothing spectacular. The main issue with Australian liveaboard cruises is that they are very expensive and IMO poor value for money. Check out the websites and decide for yourself.
