grande should have a dive shop coz of its strategic location around the sites in subic/bataan, yep heard that rates are way too high.. anyway here are the sites near grande.. (5 mins boat ride)

san quentin wreck, oldest in subic, max depth 18m, decent fish life, giant puffers sweetlips rays & clams, soft corals.. and the occational dynamites that failed to explode.. tsk tsk..

barges, md 32m, giant puffers, tons of parrotfish, not much corals, rays, mid sized groupers and a giant one, bout 5 ft. interesting fish life..

canyons, d: 3m to oblivion, kinda like sepok in anilao..

el capitan wreck, md 22m, always a good dive, lots of interesting stuff to see, an advantage to be a wreck diver so you can go inside the engine room and enter the lobster's realm.. sarap.. hehe..

sakura maru wreck, md 54m, for me the 3rd best site in subic.. lots of fish life, giant groupers snappers puffers and stonefish..

not much corals left in subic coz of the dynamite fishing.. haay..

LOL!!! that is too funny!!! I wonder if its just that they charge them a higher rate thru Korean travel agents or simply they don't WANT THEM THERE. LOL

OK, I'm gonna have to protest this and hang out at the resort ferry pier and throw chunks of fresh coral at them.

it may be that the asia travel does not have marketing rights for korea. From what I been told, the company running grande Island resort now is korean owned. they have thier own marketing arm in korea. Rates for koreans are about 50% higher and they pay it. on the question of dive operator it is a up and down situation. They have a dive operation at the water sports section but they have had some problems in the past with getting permission to dive at the sites around the island and within the Freeport controled areas ( most of the recreational diving wrecks) do not know if they have been able to resolve thier problems recently but it stemmed from thier accrediation. they claim to be a SSI facility but are registered in korea not Philippines. as such the Philippine sports diving association would not accept them as members. since the association wont approve them SBMA will not authorize them to lead groups.

serves them right for their disregard for LOCAL LAWS.

they are visitors here and they are nto above the law. THEY SHOULD RESPECT THE LAW of the Country.
