Has anyone stayed here and used the dive shop on site? We are doing a quick three day trip and I just want to get a couple of dives in. Can't find much info on the shop, hope someone here can help.
Thanks

I stayed at the Grand Sirenis and used the dive shop there last Oct. The resort is really spread out and it can be quite a hike to the dive shop if you are in a building by the lobby. The shop did a good job. The cenote dive I did was great. If you do dive a cenote I recommend you do that dive last so all of you gear gets a good fresh water rinse before you fly home.

Thanks Old School,
Not sure if I'll have time for a cenote dive. How were the reef dives and how many times a day do they go out? We will be going in low season so I'm expecting small dive groups!!

They do a couple of dives a day first one at 8 or so and then come back to the resort for a surface interval then back for a second. That seemed to be how it went most of the time as the dive sites were close. There is no dock so they run you to the boat on a jet ski or small raft or boat. I think the most other divers I had while there were 2 other divers. One day the dive consisted of myself and 3 dive masters and a video guy. He was all excited with the video but hay I just like to dive not looking to be the star of my own movie. Hope this information helps.

We stayed at the Cat Tulum last October and that is exactly how it was when I dove there. There were never more than 3 other divers and twice I was the only diver. Thanks for the info about the raft/jetski, that's good to know!

Do you know the cost of tank dives at the Grand Sirenis hotel?

Sorry I do not remember the exact price of the dives. They had a few different packages. I seem to remember that none of the packages were an exact fit for me. I did a few less ocean dives and included a cenote dive.

Dragonlady, when are you going? I will be there the last week of July. I can give you the prices when I get back.

I'm leaving Aug. 10-17. I would love to hear from you when you get back. Any info would be great. Dragonlady

Dragonlady, We are back but we ended up staying at the Catalonia Rivera Maya. We were able to get three extra nights there for only $140 more. I paid $49 a tank at the Cat and with equipment it was $61. I'm sure prices are comprable to the Sirenis. We were there during tropical storm Dolly. She hit north of us, but caused the ocean to be rough and several dives were cancelled. The vis wasn't great but the dives were nice.
Have a great time, I wish I was going back!!!
