Grand opening - Bluewater Photo in Santa Monica

Bluewater Photo is pleased to announce it is now open for business in Santa Monica, CA.

We offer underwater photo & video gear, dive travel gear, rentals workshops, classes, & trips for beginners and professionals alike.

Please join us for our grand opening party on Saturday, Feb 12th from 10AM to 9PM - where food and drink will be served starting at 4PM. We will have specials and raffles going on all day. Of course you can stop by and say hi anytime between now and then.

We are located within ScubaHaus on 2501 wilshire blvd & 25th street in Santa Monica, CA - near the 405 and 10 freeways.

Bluewater Photo is a new premiere underwater photography store in Southern California.

The store is run by Underwater Photography Guide owner Scott Gietler, and veteran underwater photographers Mark Strickland and Todd Winner. The store is founded on the principals of excellent customer service, with a slogan of “we get you what you need, and show you how to use it”.

Bluewater Photo carries inventory from more than a dozen manufacturers. We have gear for every need and budget ranging from inexpensive point and shoot setups for the casual diver to sophisticated DSLR systems for professional use. We also have systems for rent and training and if we don't have exactly what you need, we can get it for you, set it up and teach you to use it.

Bluewater Photo plans to be very active in the California diving community, promoting the local dive boats and sites through magazine articles, classes and its workshops.

The store opens is located on Wilshire blvd in Santa Monica, California, just minutes from the 405 and 10 highways, and also has a complete online store.

About Bluewater Photo

Bluewater Photo is owned by Scott Gietler, who is the publisher of the Underwater Photography Guide, the author of the Underwater field guide to the flora and fauna of Southern California, and the organizer of the Ocean Art underwater photo competition. He was the LAUPS photographer of the year in 2009, and is well-published in magazines, aquariums, coffee table and field guide books.

Mark Strickland’s photos and articles have appeared in magazines and books around the world, including Action Asia, BBC Wildlife, National Geographic World, Natural History, Scuba Diving, Skin Diver, Sport Diver, Sportdiving, Unterwasser and many others. He has won numerous international awards for his underwater and travel photography, and was the LAUPS underwater photographer of the year for 2010.
