We are staying at the morritts for a week in April. Looks like they are served by Red sail. I'm sure nothing wrong with them, but my experience is they are more geared for first time divers. We tend to prefer small experienced boats that allow us to dive our computer for a plan. I've searched but didn't seem to find a common recommendation. I am of course looking for someone that can service this hotel area / pier (not sure they even have one)

Morritt's has a dock. Take a look at the resort web site Morritt's Resorts & Vacation Packages | Wedding, Honeymoon and the owners' forum Morritts Tortuga and Grand Resorts Forum :: Index. You are right about Tortuga - Red Sail being more geared toward less experienced divers. We have dove with both OF and Tortuga and had good experiences with both. Be aware that, while they will give you a bit more freedom, OF is definitely NOT a small boat operation.

Tortuga leaves from the Morritt's dock, you'll have to drive a bit to get to OF. OF will keep your gear if you want them to and have it ready on the boat for your next dive. Tortuga does not have the facilities to do that, but there is something nice about being able to roll out of bed and walk to the dive boat.

Have fun!

I will also be in GC April. I will be there the 21st-27th and am looking for buddies for shore dives.... You are quite right about RedSail. They pack on the divers and herd them like cattle. I would highly recomend a smaller operation. I think I will be going with Seasports, although there seems to be lots of reputable operations on the island. OF is on the other side of the island which can be a hike. I do hear the diving and the operation are quite nice.

Sorry I thought I saw Marriot. You are on the East End. I've never dove over there but the Red Sail operation on SMB really rubbed me the wrong way and I personally would stay away from them. I have only heard great things about OF.

Ocean Frontiers is great! They remember you every day, have your gear ready, give you a printout of all your dives, draw out the dive plan for each site from memory! Over all - Great!

Will be there also and plan on doing a lot of shore dives. Maybe we can line up for a dive.
