I am planning to go to Grand Cayman in December 2009.

I have never been to Grand Cayman before and was hoping to get some suggestions from someone who has been there before.

I am crazy about diving and want to dive from the moment I arrive and do shore diving, boat diving and night diving.

I can only go for 5 days and I want to stay right on the beach so that I am there from the time I wake up till I go to bed.

I have invited my parents who tried diving but did not like it and also my sister who has not been certified to dive but wants to start and will likely do the intro prior to departure.

SO after that big introduction here is my question; Where should I stay and what dive shop should I use.

My key is ease and multi activities. Price is not an issue. I am just lucky to be able to dive.

Thanks for any suggestions. I am planning on making plane and hotel reservations ASAP.

Also, any suggestions on what activities I should line up before I go would be appreciated as well.

Try Divetec...you can shoredive, nightdive, boat dive and they have rooms

Try Sunset House..The resort reef shore dive is actually very nice. The bar is busy at times ..Has a pool on site and is close to town that it is not too bad a walk to Georgetown.

Thanks for the info.

I think that I will stay on the beach for my parents sake and I can do the travelling for scuba.

What do you think of the the Ritz Carleton?

Do you suggest I use multiple dive shops or is it better to book multiple trips with the same shop?

Which shop or shops do you suggest for recreational diving.

Also, do you suggest I rent a car or take a cab for the afore mentioned travel to scuba.

Thanks again :D

Rent a car it is much easier on you. I prefer diving on the East End. No cruise ships, less tourist and boat traffic, and usually only dive with

If you are going to stay in West Bay/7 mile beach are, there is alot more tourist traffic, cruise ships, boats, and coral damage compared to East End IMO.. But here is a list of the operators i like in order of perference.
