My wife and I are trying to book a trip to GC in late October. We are possibly staying at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort on Seven Mile Beach, and we are looking at a few different dive ops, Wall to Wall and Neptune's in particular.

Can anyone offer any insight on either the Marriott or those dive ops?

For background, we are both PADI OW certified, and have done a weeks diving in Puerto Vallarta and Cozumel.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you might have,

Mike

I stayed at the Marriott Beach Resort two years ago. Red Sail Sports had a shop right in the hotel. I found them to be a well run organization, clean boats, good rental equipment, safety oriented, and professional. I can't comment on the other ops. Have a good trip.

We are a big fan of Divetech. First they have a free shuttle service so you don't need a rental car. Then they provide a free dive computer rental if needed, so you can dive their boat profiles of 2 one hour dives. The boats are big and easy walk-off swim plateforms, freshwater shower, towels, bottled water, fruit for the 45-60 min. surface interval and Nitrox for the ones that want long bottom times. We love their staff, especially Gary and Eleanor. Then the "free" shore diving provided with the boat package was some of the greatest dives, especially the night dive at Cobalt Coast. The marine life and soft corals out front of their shop are the healthest reefs I have seen in the Carribbean, since 1980... Also, make time to do a scooter dive, they have the latest scooter that are hands free with speed control. They have discounted packages for the Fall which runs till Dec 15th because that is when we are going. Have a great vacation.
