I'll be going to Grand Cayman and staying on the East end of the island. Does anyone know of good dive operators/sites?

There are two excellent dive operations on the East End: Ocean Frontiers and Red Sail/Tortuga Divers. Red Sail/Tortuga is on site at Morrits. Ocean Frontiers is right down the road from Morritts and Reef Resort. They will pick you up if you don't have a car.

We have dove with both operations. We actually did a resort course one year, then our check out OWD with Ocean Frontiers. Have a great time. The East End is a really nice part of the island. We will be there the first two weeks of April.

Both operations have taken us on great dives. Both very professional.

Ocean Frontiers is the only dive op I've used in East End. I recommend them highly. They have a professional staff that give excellent briefings and take you to great sites in well designed & maintained boats. I think they have one of the hardest working dive crew I've seen. Have a great time whoever you choose to go with.

There's only the 2 ops. I've only dove wth Ocean Frontiers, which is usually recommended as the better op. Where are you staying? As a new diver you might also be happy with Tortuga, so worth considering especially if you happen to be staying at Morritts.

We have dove with both and each has it's advantages. Tortuga tends to cater a little more to newer divers and is very convenient if you're staying at Morritt's or the Reef (a short walk as opposed to a short drive). OF allows you a little more freedom and will rinse and store your gear for you if you're going to be diving with them again. We have enjoyed diving with both operations and will use both again.

Thanks everyone for the info. We're renting a villa on the East End about 5 minutes from OF. We may try both!

I have dived with both. Tortuga Divers (aka Red Sail Sports) is somewhat more oriented towards beginners; OF is more appreciated by experienced divers. Trying both sounds like the way to go.

Been to Cayman twice and once stayed on the East End at the Reef and dove for a week with Ocean Frontiers, Great operation, they will pcik you up from your hotel (or as others have said) they are a short drive from anywhere on the East end and Easily located.

Divemasters and the boats were great and the do allow you freedom to dive your limits and either with the DM or off on your own......

We would highly reccomend OF.....enjoy your diving

Ocean Frontiers is about the only and the BEST operation on the east end. You will find Red sails but they are a big unpersonable operation. Just stick with Ocean Frontiers. You staying at Morrits or the Reef...Come into town one day and dive the south sound, west or North...with petermilburnsdivecayman.com or there are also great beach dives in Georgetown if you have a car. Sunset house has a large statue underwater of a mermaid with shiny places and a wreck about 100 feet further out all in about 60 feet of water.. have fun
