My 3mm + 5/3 hooded vest did OK for the first few days of intro but after that I had to bump up to the 7mm to keep from freezing. Frankie only had his 3mm and he had more than a few miserable dives.
Remember, you aren't sitting in the cenote pre and post dive like we had to with Fernando. We had some pretty long exposures due to the nature of training. Plus... some of us ain't got no padding.
Still... I'm glad I left my drysuit at home this time.
