I'm fairly new to diving, done about 30 dives. Everytime I go I have to relearn everything I forgot from the time before. Instead of looking like an idiot I'd love to have a good SIMPLE reference book to freshen up on before diving. I bought one and it sucks, does anyone have an good ideas for me?

How about the textbook you used during your course? The NAUI Scuba Diver Educational System has a pretty good textbook and a great DVD that includes the in water skills. I know that PADI and I'm sure other agencies have similar products.

If you want something more advanced try the Advanced Diver or Master Diver Educational System.

Another good book I keep handy is by Jarrod Jablonski of GUE "Doing It Right; The Fundamentals of Better Diving".
