Did you use a the flatlens fix?? If so which one?

I bought a gopro and captured video while Cozumel also about a month ago and while it was good enough for me, I was hoping the quality was a little better. I am impressed by your video

Hard to believe that is your first video. Great Music, and full of money shots. Nice job

He is definitely using the flat lens and probably a red filter I would assume.
Can't wait to see the next vids.

Can you tell me about the pole mount you made? Is it aluminum?

I am using the flat lens from pursuit spearfishing along with a red filter indeed.

I appreciate the compliments. I spend a lot of time watching other peoples videos and whatever looks good to me, I tried to duplicate. And I spent a good four weeks looking for a good song. Low and behold a buddy of mine introduced me to Explosions in the Sky. Aptly, I believe the name of the song was six days at the bottom of the ocean. :rofl3:

The pole mount was actually mostly PVC pipe. It consisted of a standard (pre-cut at home depot) length of pvc pipe, an elbow joint and a plug that stuck down into the end (that I was able to spin 180 degrees), a mountain bike grip (stock grips from bontrager off of my Gary Fisher), and a cord at the end to keep it on my wrist.

I spray painted it red cause I like red. I drilled a hole in the PVC plug, then super glued a GoPro Tripod mount to it and screwed it in to place for good measure. I drilled holes about every half inch the length of the bottom to allow water to flow quickly and freely in and out of the pole. It was slightly negatively buoyant though it felt weightless underwater.

Total time was about 2 hours including going to home depot and painting. Total cost was about 3 or 4 bucks at home depot though I already had paint and super glue and the tripod mount.

Sweet, yeah thays the same setup i have
Good ideas on the pole

This is my first video / editing project. I whipped up a sampling from my 6+ hours of footage to get me going.

Taken in Cozumel, March '11. Diving with my LDC and our island friends at Aqua Safari.

Used the GoPro HD 1080p.

Great first video! I still cant belive this little GoPro shoots video as good as this! These things are amazing for the price! I Just used mine this weekend with the LCD display and what a big help! Now you can see what you are shooting. Thanks for sharing!

Did u switch cases or just take it out of the case for
The on the boat shots?

Yes, I have two cases. One with the original dome port and one with the flat port. With that I have two poles as well. The underwater pole has holes drilled into the bottom so using it on a windy day makes it sound like a flute. I basically have 1 camera but two separate sets of gear for land and water.
