Here is the new LCD installed on the GoPro HD with new cover. It adds not quite a 1/2 inch to the thickness of the camera and a little more weight. You do need to update the firmware on the camera and is easy to do from GoPros web site. Lcd has its own on/off button or you can set it up so it turns off after 60 seconds. If you want it back on Just push the on/off button and you are good for another 60 seconds. I am guessing this is to save battery life. I have attached a few photos of it installed and in the housing on my hand mount. It also has a speaker and you can now play back video or photos on the screen. Very easy to install and remove.

Hi TSwain.
Just wanted to know how do you like the lcd for the Gopro?
How's the battery life with it installed, does it kill the battery much faster?
Have you used it underwater yet?
Just curious whether i should buy one.

H2Oman, The LCD is a nice add on to the gopro! You can now see what you are filming. Yes it will use more of the battery to use it, but you can turn it on/off any time you want that will save your battery life. Yes I have used it underwater to about 100 feet in 36 deg water so far and had no problems with it. We were under for just about a hour and I turned the LCD on and off as needed, and never ran out of battery life. I think it is a great add on.

Thanks for the positive input, i may go ahead and purchase one.
It would be nice to see what you are recording or taking pictures of.
