GoPro Hero5 Black Filters

I'm setting up a GoPro Hero5 Black for diving and am currently looking into filters and macro lens for it. I know about the Back Scatter Flip 5 w/3filters and the +15 macro for $179.00. That's a bit pricey for me right now, so I found a Polar Pro SwitchBlade5 Combo Filter which has a red filter (15 to 75 feet) and a +15 (or so they say) macro lens for $70 at Adorama and B&H Photo. In addition, Adorama has a three pack Polar Pro filter set for the GoPro Hero5 for $29.99 plus shipping also. Anyone have any experience with these Polar Pro filters and have compared these with the Back Scatter Flip 5 Filters and Macro? I only want to buy once and would like some opinions? Thanks.

The color of the filters you need depends on the kind of diving....tropical blue water, coastal green water, etc, and on the depth. A "red' filter is not enough information. They are all kinda red.....

A look at the Adorama ad for the SwitchBlade 5 Combo Filter indicates the Red filter is good from 15 to 75 feet in Blue water Sea Water). I'm just looking for a comparison of quality/durability/general comparison of the Polar Pro Switchblade combo filter to the Back Scatter flip filters with 15mm Macro lens. I've only been able to speak with those that have bought the Back Scatter Filter and they say the majority of filters on the on the flip filters, they don't use them other than the red filter. Guess I'm just looking for someone who has either had both to compare or someone that has purchased the Polar Pro and what their experiences have been? The difference in price is significant and I don't want to get one or both just to find out that the Polar Pro works just fine. Polar Pro would save me $110 over the Back Scatter.

1) You are not making a fair price comparison. The single-color backscatter is $49.FLIP5 Single Filter Kit with Dive Filter The single color Polar Pro is $30, and it is not a flip. Your $110 price difference is for a single color filter and a weak macro (PP: $70) versus three color filters and a strong macro (BS: $179).

2) More importantly, Red is not red. They are all shades (see for example, http://www.backscatter.com/product-category/Filters), depending on your water quality/type and the depth. The pictures of the PP red make it look really red.....which will work well only at depth in really really clear water. You will not find a single filter works for all your dive sites.

I believe you'll be disappointed. I love my flip five. I've seen three or four others, and the differences are obvious. You might also want to check out www.vivid-pix.com for your still needs.

Thanks guys! This helps greatly. Tursiops, While I agree with u regarding red filters having different variations, the red filter on the Polar Pro indicates it has a range from 15 to 75 feet. However, all said I guess what I'm really looking for now is someone that has tried the PP Switchblade and can give me an assessment of it. The Chairman, I also appreciate your comments on the Flip 5. Can u give me a little more on why u like the Flip 5 and also some of your dislikes and is the 15mm Macro acrylic/plastic like the filters? Can u interchange the filters underwater and with ease? Thanks.
