So the reality is, I may be willing to spend on the 960, but not the HD right now (just picked up 5 tanks today, budget tapped out!).

The question is, is the 960 worth getting? What is its performance relative to the HD?

TIA

realtive to the same setting a HD can do.

the main short fall is on the additional hardware side. as in the LCD screen, battery backpac, etc. you can't put that in.

I have the 960 and I like the videos that I have shot with it but I'm looking to sell mine to buy the 1080.

So if you're interested let me know and I'll pack it up and ship it off.

Appreciate the offer, but the "push" for this is I am diving Tobermory next week, and want to do a check out in the quarry Saturday morning - leaving 1st thing Sunday. Short version, I picked it up an hour ago :)

Well I'm sure you'll enjoy it, I know I have.

I have a $3000 Ikelite/Sony system and my GoPro and I use my GoPro more often because of it's ease of use and compact size.

So much for being "tapped out" lol.

Hope you enjoy it; and give feedback so the rest of can decide if WE want one :D

A "tap" upside the head is what I'm going to get from the long-haired boss if I spend any more on gear this year...

Did you get a blur fix, flat lens type adapter for underwater - you may be disappointed. Recommend the Blur Fix as best but the plastic flat is good too.

I am actually ok with the lens as is - for now. Having had it down on 5 dives, 2 at Tobermory and 3 at the quarry, it is doing exactly what I expected when I bought it. When I have a biit more spare cash I might consider it, but for now it fits the bill.
