Hero 10 seems to be the worst for overheating according to my internet research, so maybe skip that model. I'm sure the Hero 9 is just fine. I was pretty happy with my Hero 7. Just got a Hero 11 and first impressions are good. Check the video codecs on your computer. I ended up buying a new computer as my 10 year old MacBook couldn't process HEVC and there is no H264 option on the Hero 11. I was due a new one anyway, so not the end of the world. Regardless, processing 4K video requires a reasonably powerful computer.
What do you use to edit videos?

I do all my editing on my iPad these days. Lumafusion on iPad is great.

Damn I need an iPad :)

Or this new fancy 15” MBP …

Or both! 😂

For me both, but I am running a Windows VM in addition to Mac OS.

But I flew to Dallas and was able to do most of my editing on the plane with the iPad in the device holder or on the tray table.

I did get the largest iPad though so that helps. And my goal was to not have to take a laptop with me on vacation.
