Goodbye MV Trident...

The MV Trident, former tech liveaboard based out of Koh Tao, has been sunk.

The MV Trident was famous as the primary tech expedition charter in the Gulf of Thailand. Wrecks such as the USS Lagarto were discovered on her expeditions and divers such as Chatterton and Kohler have slept in her cabins.

She was deliberately sunk today, to form a new artificial reef and wreck diving site in a sheltered bay on Koh Tao. Those divers with fond memories of diving from her, will now be able to dive on her. The boat was fully prepared and cleaned prior to sinking.

Recreational divers on Koh Tao will now have a decent wreck dive site.

TechThailand, former operators of the MV Trident, have a new, larger tech liveaboard for the coming season.
