I don't plan to expire anytime soon, but once in awhile I show up on my computer at work as Invalid employee number.

A company I used to work for was doing huge layoffs. People all around me were vanishing like in a bad horror movie.

One day I came into work and found my Windows machine had no network connection. First I thought "oh **it", I'm toast.

Then I thought, wait, maybe it's just the machine or the network. So I tried my Linux box, which was on a different network. Still no network access.

Then I figured, well, I guess that's it. They probably just forgot to tell me. I walked downstairs and found one of the network people and said "Both my connections are dead. Is something hosed or did I get laid off?"

She said "oops. hang on a second", then came back a few minutes later and said she had stolen both my connections because she thought they were spares.

Then they laid me off a year later.

Bummer, I would want to "take it with me"!

Unfortunately, to do that, you have to empty your tank and take the valve off it.

Dang, those TSA agents are EVERYWHERE.
