Hello,
My brother and I might go down the PCH this coming weekend. We always dove up in the Ventura/Oxnard area, so we don't know much about places down south.
What are some good diving sites that are north of Malibu?
Also when doing a shore dive, what resources do you turn too, to see if the conditions are good?

Thanks,
Tom

For conditions, go to diver.net, there's a link up top to diving weather, lots of swell charts etc.

Deer Creek and Leo Carillo are two very good shore dive spots.

Also, further down in Malibu, Matador, Escondido Creek, Big Rock, Corral Canyon

I agree with Chris M. Deer Creek, Leo Carrilo, Arroyo Sequit are all good sites to dive with easy access.

Point Dume can be good too, but only if you are a stong swimmer and experienced diver as there are often currents there and it is a long swim back against the current. I woudl not recommend this site without a local to shjow you around.

I was at Point Dume yesterday. Great conditions in the canyons (25-30ft viz). Not so good at the pinacles (5-10 ft) but still a lot of stuff to see, even though the blue sea urchins are killing a lot of stuff. Current was mild. The Santa Anas have been blowing strong lately in Malibu.
