Rainer:
Yes. Very. These prices available to others?

our local shop is having their spring sale today, and i am looking at getting tanks to make double for the wife and I.. so they are for anyone, but only for about 15 more minutes.. www.saguarsports.com call em if you want to see if they'll ship them

And spartclebrane, new as in not used. Pressed Steel tanks, at least thats what the shop said. I heard something about PST selling the company or something along those lines, perhaps you have some info which would help me or clarify your post?

PST quit manufacturing scuba tanks several years ago. There was a rumor out of DEMA that someone had resurrected the name and was using a Korean firm to manufacture the tanks. I did not know of any new manufacture of PST tanks. If you actually get your hands on a new manufacture PST tank you may be able to confirm the rumor. BTW what is the DOT Exemption number on these tanks? And yes if these are new manufacture those are excellent prices, esp the 100.

Diveral, thanks for the informative post... I'll have to look into this on Monday- they had two of the 80s in and one 100 and the shop said they could order me another one no problem. Hmmm... I'll swing by the shop on Monday and check the DOT markings on the tanks and see if I can find the date of manufacture. I'll let you guys know what I find out....

edit: after posting the above, I found PST's website http://www.pstscuba.com/index.htm The site makes it seem like they are still manufacturing tanks? Or whomever took over is? Or am I missing something?

I've got a PST 100. I believe there was a bankruptcy involved and several years of non-production. This is from their news page mentioning their re-organization and return to scuba:
"
PST Scuba to Exhibit at DEMA Show
October 17, 2006
E-Series Steel Scuba Diving Cylinders Return to Dive Market

PST Scuba extends an open invitation to attendees and fellow exhibitors at DEMA Show 2006 to visit us at Booth #2182.

E-Series steel diving cylinders, featuring PST Scuba’s original hot dipped galvanized finish, will be on display, and our staff is ready to share both product and company news.

PST’s reorganization earlier this year led to renewed focus on our core product lines of scuba diving tanks and aircraft cylinders. PST’s long-planned relocation to Cudahy, Wisconsin was completed in September. New production facilities and equipment, improved inventory control, and a firm commitment to customer service are the driving forces behind a “new and improved” PST Scuba.

Recognized for innovative cylinder design, quality and safety, PST Scuba is excited to bring our original E-Series steel scuba tank line back to the DEMA Show. We look forward to seeing many of you in Orlando."

I checked out several of their dealers and the only one I could find advertising PST tanks on-line is Larry at Scuba Toys.
