Good places to snorkel from the shore

We are always looking for vacation spots where we can enjoy nice snorkeling accessable from the shore on our own rather than going on organized snorkeling trips from a boat. Of course, good visability and pretty coral, fish, etc are what we are looking for. We have been to Grand Cayman and Tortola in the past and had pretty good luck in those places snorkeling from the shore. And on Oahu, Hanama Bay was great. I would appreciate hearing about other vacation spots with good snorkeling from the shore. I already got some good tips for snorkeling around Nassau from Dantheengineer in the bahamas forum.
 
Bonaire is your best choice followed by Curacao.

Most any Hawaiian Island, the Yucatan, Cabo San Lucas all fit the bill for me. But then again, I live in SoCal and only want to take one non-stop flight to my destination. Kona or Kauai to top my lists.

Roatan has some good snorkling---I can think of 2 great places, (1) in front of Inn of Last's Resort's Lagoon(just before the reef) and (2) Tabiana Beach(now called West Bay Beach) down by Black Rock, this one is 2nd to NONE, can maka great shallow dive here or just snorkle it......
 
Best on Oahu that I've found is Shark's Cove on the North Shore. Far better than Hanuama Bay - like swimming in an aquarium. Makaha on the NW side of Oahu has a really cool turtle cleaning station. Snorkelling these two places in July of '06 inspired me to become certified in Aug '06.......
 
St. John in the US Virgin Islands has some really nice spots. Trunk Bay has a small island you can swim out to and then swim around.
