hello everyone, my name is Omar, I am new, just got certified a few weeks ago. Working on getting all my gear (still need a suit, tanks, and weights), BUT in the mean time, Im tryin to meet the local dive community and have fun! :d
cheers!

Welcome to diving, and to :sblogo:!

You're in a great place to be a new diver. There are great ways to meet people and get into the water here. There is a standing dive at Mukilteo on Monday afternoons and evenings (usually one at 4 and one at 6, with a trip to the Diamond Knot brewery for suds and food afterwards). Another standing dive is the NWUE dive on Wednesday nights -- this is a mostly GUE group, but welcoming of all new divers. In addition, there are good dive clubs locally which hold club dives. The Moss Bay Dive Club has a dive most Tuesday nights at Cove 2 in Alki. Up where you are, there is the Emerald Sea Dive club -- I don't know their schedule, but I'm sure they have a website or Meetup group.

Another good source for dive buddies and opportunities is nwdiveclub.com. It's a small local forum which is heavily used for making diving dates and writing dive reports.

It generally isn't a problem to borrow tanks and weights, if you arrange it ahead of time. But a suit, you're going to need to have!

Check out some of those possibilities, and if there is anything I can do to help you get in the water, please feel free to PM me.

Hello Omar!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Scuba diving! Where did you get certified? There's a great group of divers out of Evergreen Dive Services that dives almost every Thursday at Mukilteo. It's a great way to meet other divers as well as log some dives. Let me know if you need a dive buddy, I'm usually available on Fridays or the weekends! Again, welcome, and enjoy!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

Mycrow, I got certified through Underwater Sports in Seattle. Weekends are the best time for me to go diving. I'll PM you and we can try to plan a dive.

TSandM - Thanks for all the info on dive spots, dive clubs and the NW forum. I'll check them out, I appreciate your help!
