What would be a good general purpuse light? I am going to Truk in March and while I am not going to do any major wreck penetration, I'm sure I will do some poking around and would like to have a decent light. Also, my wife and I usually do one or two dive vacations during the year and a night dive or two is usually part of that. Can anyone recommend a good light that would work for my purposes? It seems most on LP are in the $40-$150 range and I have no problem with those prices. Thanks in advance for any advice!

The C6 and D8 make GREAT lights for me. I use them as Back ups for my canister light, and love them for daylight/non penetration diving!

underwater kinetics sl6, my wife and I both have 2,small enough to go in BC pocket but big and bright enough to use as a primary.

I agree the Underwater Kinetics "SL" lights are a good general purpose light. I carry an SL4 on most dives. Usually as a backup (in a pocket), but sometimes it's my primary. It depends on the visibility, and if the dive is day or night. The SL4 is small enough to fit well as a backup, but bright enough in many "primary" situations.

Since you asked about a "general purpose light", I'll agree with the previous posters.
