I am a fairly new diver with only a couple of resort dives. I am taking my certification class locally in Nebraska, but will be going to Grand Cayman to complete my open water certification. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a Dive Shop in the Caymans were I should complete my open water dives. I appreciate any input anyone has for me. Thanks.

We've dived with http://www.neptunesdivers.com/ and I can vouch for their personalized attention and Casey is hard to beat for the service she gives. An excellent guide too.

I was just looking at their website. They may not do certifications.

Look at www.sunsethouse.com. My daughter and I stayed there for a week and had a great time (we were already certified). That was before the hurricane so I don't know how they've recovered.

Also look at www.divetech.com. They are a full service operation and have gotten great reviews form some of my rebreather friends, although I haven't been there myself.

Good luck!

My LDS here in NJ recommends them for referral certs.

Well, the truth is that the dive industry here is so highly competitive that ANY dive op which has been in business for more than 3 months will be good. A non-exhaustive list includes:

Ocean Frontiers
DiveTech
Don Foster's
Sunset Divers
Neptune Divers
Divers Down
Wall to Wall Divers
Off the Wall Divers
Ambassador Divers
etc.

Where are you staying on Grand Cayman? We have used Sunset Divers.

I've stayed with Sunset house twice now and would have nothing but good things to say about their Instructors and facilities.
