Hiya Kids!
Well, Diane and I are back in Frankenmuth for a few days to pack boxes and load up office equipment in a rented truck and head back to Florida.
Things in Florida are coming along pretty well. We have our new place of business and have it pretty well cleaned up. The utilities are turned on, and in a few weeks we'll have our new tractors and be ready to sell. I still need to paint the building and get my shop set up, but much of that will be done by the end of NEXT week. We also need to stand an inspection of the site to get our business license. That takes place on the 4th of next month.
On a personal note, we have our new "house" a 29' 5th wheel trailer in a nice RV park on Taylor Creek, which feeds directly into Lake Okeechobee. The winter season is over and most of the winter residents of the RV park are gone north. We are settling into the "RV" lifestyle have enjoyed it so far. It seems like a nice place to live and has lots of friendly folks.
I had a great time helping to get the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew first Meet and Greet put together and getting to know a lot of you folks. I'm taking all my gear south, including my drysuit and softwear undersuit, but don't know when I'll use them again as I expect to become a real Warm Water Weenie from now on. It's 180 miles from our new place to Islamorada and the guys at Ocean Quest (my favorite dive op down there) and I look forward to making Saturday afternoon trips down to meet a Sunday morning dive boat and make some reef dives. It's only 40 miles to the Ocean in Ft. Pierce and the shore dive at Pepper Park. An easy Wednesday evening dive trip.
Diving in the Great Lakes has been a WONDERFUL experience and I still really believe that this is the finest fresh water diving in the world, and meeting all you folks, especially Dave, Ted and Brian who I have dived with the majority of times has made me a better diver. The SCUBABOARD WORKS! It brings divers together and helps us form a community of divers.
Thank you all for your kindness and help and for making me a better diver. Thanks for being my friends and passing along your knowledge. I am richer for having known you all.
Bye kids! Take care, dive safe. If in South Florida, give me a call at the tractor store in Okeechobee. New contact info is...
