Hi! I use the S40 for the UW Photography... but I have to turn the display off between the shoots... The battery lasts for about 60 min... In addition the camera gets realy hot cauing condensation... Any ideas :06:

They use proprietary batteries, don't they?

Is the battery older? Maybe buying a new one would help?

My S1 fogs so I insert a small packet of desiccant between the camera and the housing, and no more fogging. I replace the desiccant every few dives.

Where do you get these packs of dessicant. Sounds like a good idea!

You can find batteries with about 30% more capacity on line.

Set the LCD display to dim, turn the use timeout on, keep the LCD off when you are not shooting, and turn the flash off.

I can get 4 dives out of mine with the standard batteries this way.

Thanks Peter, I did forget that I can set the display to dim!!! Great Idea!

U can by them in the BackScatter, SportShalet and so on... They runs for about $10 pack(10 capsules...) I use 2 at a time... But when I shout at Montery (54 F) if I Forget to shut down the Display it still fogs up. I will try to apply some antyfog on the lens of the housing next time...
