WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) -- Two Oxford men have been indicted on charges that they stole more than $200,000 worth of lobsters from a highway accident scene.
The Worcester district attorney says Arnold Villatico Jr. and Robert Moscoffian have been indicted on charges of a marine fisheries permit violation, conspiracy, larceny by false pretenses and larceny over $250. Their Superior Court arraignments have not been scheduled.
Prosecutors allege that Villatico, a restaurant owner, and Moscoffian, a tow truck owner, took crates of lobsters from a tractor-trailer wreck on Interstate 395 in Webster in July 2008 and sold them. Some of the lobsters were allegedly found at Villatico's restaurant.
Villatico's lawyer told the Telegram & Gazette that his client is innocent. Moscoffian's lawyer could not immediately be reached.
