I would highly recommend Outer Banks Dive Center in Nags Head over Sea Scan. I have experience with both, but the crew at OBX Dive seem to be much more professional and you get a great experience out of the dives, including a history of the wrecks you will be on. The Huron is a popular wreck here, but smaller than the others. If you get a chance to do the Triangle wreck and the Huron, go for it.

The OBX guy's # is: 252-449-8349. I'll probably see you out there!

I also recommend Outer Banks Dive Center in Nags Head and Outer Banks Diving in Hatteras. I have dived with both of them. They are both very professional.

It is worth the effort to get up an hour earlier and drive the hour to Hatteras. The water will be 20-30 degrees warmer than out of Nags Head.

Also, last I heard, the Huron was still covered from Isabel so it may not be your best bet for a shore dive.

The Huron is looking great! It was covered up after Isabel, but some early summer Nor'Easters cleared it right up. It is more uncoverend now than it has been in the last 4 years. I try to dive on it at least once a week now.

what do you guys expect the water temp will be mid September time frame? nags head that is. I want to freediver and spearfish the Tri wrecks and Huron during my vacation in September. I'm going to hit the Jetties at Wrightsville beach then shoot up to Nags head for about 3 days!

Has anyone every stayed at Pettigrew State Park before? They say they have showers there?!?! I can't find a place closer in my cheap vacation price range to nags head during that part of the summer!
