Hey guys, I am coming into p'cola from Whidbey Island, WA around 12th June and want to schedule a charter. Does anybody have any suggestions? Also, I have never dove in p'cola so if you have any info on some of the inshore/midshore sites I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if you want to dive let me know. Thanks.

Samurai,

Glad to hear you are coming in. Let me know if I can answer any questions, or provide any info. If we can't accommodate you, we'll help you get hooked-up with someone who can.

We have lots of info on the website and are happy to answer any additional questions you may have. There are over 100 sites to choose from and we can help find something you like.

Keep us posted as your plans develop. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

I am from OKC and used Dr. Dive to dive the Mighty "O" 2 years ago. It was the best charter I have ever used.

shawn, thanks a lot for the recommendation. A few years ago i tried Dr. Dive but unfortunately unexpected severe weather forced us to cancel the dive the morning of. I think I am going to to take your advice and charter Jim again. maybe the second time will be better! Where did you dive exactly?

I went 2 years ago we went with Scuba Shack to the Oriskany Awesome trip diving etc...They filled (With Nitrox our tanks are not O2 clean) and stored our tanks overnight. Good Crew Nice size boat.

+1 for Dr. Dive. He will get you there very comfortably and quickly. His boat is much faster than the larger charter boats, which I've also been out with, and that's a major plus if you're planning a trip to the Oriskany.

Turn on the news by June that whole area will be one BIG oil spill :(
May want to think about the springs down there great diving no boat "cheaper".
Fresh water No oil and no weather cancellations (unless it floods).

PS1, I was actually thinking the same. I've heard nothing but good things about FL spring diving. Where did you go?

To all, thanks for your replies.

Samurai,

We've got an "O" trip going on the 13th and current predictions are good as far as the oil goes. Talk to me. Let's see if we can get you into something more exciting than the springs. We will be running the weekend too, 14th - 16th. Let's go diving.

Folks, please don't count Pensacola out yet. The operators are standing strong and are running for as long as conditions permit. We hope folks will stay informed on the actual situation and not pull the plug on reservations based on projections and bad press. We had a a boat out today and conditions were near perfect. We are moving into the best weather time of the year for us. There is still some great diving to be done here. Come see us.
