Hello My name is Kevin and I am going to go to The Phillipines soon. Thanks for the good advice. Thanks Kevinreefwreck:I was there in early May. Don't miss Apo Island for lots of beautiful soft and hard corals as well as colourful reef fish. Some of the Apo Island dive sites with current have the bigger fish.
Next, be sure to try the coastal sites around Dumaguete for macro stuff. Tiny frogfish, nudis, ghost pipefish etc. At the Atlantis Housereef, you can see mating Mandarinfish during early evening dives.
If you can get permission to dive at the Dumaguete Pier, it is supposed to be fantastic for macro.
I dove with Atlantis Dumaguete, which is a well run operation. While all the guides are very good, Glenn is tops in my book for finding macro stuff.
I hope this helps. You also may want to post something in the Asia section.
Cheers.
