Hi all, just joined the site as I am starting my PADI Divemaster training... I am curious to see if Go Pro means (as they say in the marketing papers) that you can change the office and the traffic jam for your dream job in an exotic island... :cool2: It will definitely be great, although for the time being, the journey is starting by carrying the bottles of the students in the divecenter! ;)

I look forward to reading from the wisdom of the forum and I will try to contribute by putting my two cents in.

congrats on going pro decision!!!!
everyone has their own reasons-goals to be realized by going professional
exotic island sounds nice today,but shoveling snow is more of my reality!
however,the people that i connect with and share my passion for the sport
somehow increases with the snowy weather up here!!
i'm able to instruct all winter so my students can go diving in the tropics on study,vacation,etc. and just come back with a new outlook on life!!!
thats my reward-changing lives at times!!!
...going with them sometimes is great too!!!!!!
...or teaching ice diving specialty yesterday....!!!!
whatever the case may be-it's all good!

It is definitely possible and very exciting! It's a different way of life for a lot of people, some are willing to make the necessary changes and do great, others resist and end up back in the office. My biggest advice: make sure you get in some real fun dives from time to time, don't let them all be work dives. And don't give me the "every dive is a fun dive" line, that won't last :)

Thanks for your reply Yaeg. Believe me, when you live in the Arab Gulf you miss cold water, especially in summer when the water seems more like hot tea. I will put the dry suite training up in the agenda!
