didn't you already start a thread by this name? You wouldn't be just deliberately trying to provoke people, would you?

Usil deserves the same respect that Chickdiver and the others were given in the thread regarding the support of the troops in the middle east.

No one wishes ill on innocent people, and if that is how usil wishes to express himself, then he has every right to.

If you don't agree with him, take it somewhere else.

I would just like some one to also recognise that there are innocent people in iraq as well. With all this lets bomb the crap out of them and lets flaten the place, I think alot of people are forgetting that the loss of one innocent life anywhere on the earth is a travesty not just when it happens to your own people.
relise innocent people are being killed by our servicemen.

well...I guess I can buy that. Most people there are like most people here in that they are kept busy with the business of making a living. Most have no clue what's goin on or why. If being in the wrong place at the wrong time isn't the biggest crime on earth then it shouldn't have the most severe penalty.

In the end it is the people that are going to suffer. I can imagine that the people of iraq don't want saddam there, along with not having the west there either. it's hard to empathise with a comman person that has gone through so much for so little.

I'll agree that it is a shame that this has become necessary. However, in the end its the people of Iraq who will benefit from this.

I heard an interesting radio announcement earlier this week that had been linked to on a thread that I believe ended up getting ripped.

An Iraqi living in the United States put the situation this way:

Saddam will continue to murder, rape and maim many people for so long as he remains in power.

Saddam cannot be forced to stop killing except by a forcible removal, i.e., war.

Unfortunately, war will also kill people.

However, it will happen over a much shorter time period and in far fewer numbers than what will happen if Saddam stays in power.

Once the war is over, Iraq can be rebuilt and its people can live better lives.

not too sure how true it is/was, but i heard that before Sadman came along, Iraq was very rich and the people that lived there had a very good standard of living (western standard), and then he pulled them all down to live like they are now.

I've heard the same thing. We should also consider that Iraq had a history of prosperity long before oil was discovered.
