The Goblin shark looks nifty, I wonder why the jaw developed the way it did..

curious. As far as other wierd looking sharks, My Favorite is the Megamouth.. It sorta looks like a swimming packman. If I ever see one in the wild I think I will have to resist the urge to say "Woka woka woka" through my regulator as it swims by. Since it is a filter feeder, I would imagine that it would not be that agressive.
 
Thanks Goblin Girl...very interesting stuff. I have never heard of this shark before, but with my luck, I'd be the one to encounter it while diving and have the living daylights scared out of me...that is one aptly named fish! At least now if I do run into one, the shock of seeing how terrifying it looks won't cause me to spit out my regulator in panic. But it does make you wonder...what else is out there and how much horrific could it be?!:eek:
