It's time for the World Cup of Hockey. Who on Scubaboard is watching? I am for one. Gotta love this quality hockey in August. Any predictions on who'll be in the final game?

Well...hopefully Canada's performance will be better than the Olympics...sigh...:D

That was a fantastic game. Canada showed in the first period that they can win the whole thing easily if they can find it in themselves to sustain that level of play. The whole thing could have been a blow out if not for the acrobatics of the American goaltender. The states sure found their game in the second though and it made for great sport with them coming on strong for the rest of the game.

I will predict Canada and the States in the final. Maybe Canada and Sweden. I think Canada's goaltending will come into it in the later part of the tournament and Brodeur will shine.

Hear, hear.... I agree with Diverindeep, Brodeur will shine once he gets into his game. Would love to see Canada and Sweden, but we'll have to see.

You know how lonely it is to watch the games on the TV in Houston, TX????????

Try listening to the NHL playoffs at internet cafes in Bangkok!!! I guess people thought I was a nut, screaming at my computer and such. Strangely enough, out of all the Swedes I met in Asia in 4 years, not one played hockey. Go figure considering they produce some of the best players in the world.

My brother spent some time in Texas and then Tenessee and he is a huge hockey fan. It must be really strange not having hockey as a little bit of your daily conversation with someone as it is here where I live. My brother was able to find some guys in Texas playing pickup hockey in a league at some arena and he joined up with them for awhile. He had this really cool hockey shirt "something something Iguanas". Had a big picture of a purple and orange Iguana on it...very cool!

That's the San Antonio Iguanas of the Central Hockey League.

I was watching Sweden and the Czech Republic when I was at lunch today, but it was still 0-0 when I left. How did it come out? Sweden was playing with Tommy Salo's backup between the pipes.

The Swedes won 4-3 but the Czechs scored their 3 goals in the last period. They almost tied it too. But before the 3rd, it was all Sweden.

haha, I feel your pain and do the exact same thing every year during the season. At work, in the car, etc, etc. My cats and dog 'watch' with me.... my friends don't get it either. baaaaahhhhh need to go back to Canada!!!
