Hello wreckers.

Saw my doctor again today and I'm still sidelined from my Memorial weekend spill. He wants me home for another week elevating my leg.

So, given I missed 3 of 6 dives while at Kingston, couldn't go to Gilboa last weekend and will probably have to cancel next weekend's charter to The Straits, I was hoping I could dive vicariously through you. Read Brian's Strait report but haven't seen any others.

So where did you dive? Conditions? Anything special? Anything to recommend?

Any input would be greatly appreciated as I start to dehydrate.

Hmmm,

Dehydration is bad, but detox is worse. :crafty:

Met up with John and Rob 0:dark-early Sunday and trekked up to Gilboa. My first trip there, so lots of new/cool experiences.

Surface temp 60-something, 50 or so at the airplane, and 40 at the tubes. Brrrrr...

Got two dives in before a leak in Rob's drysuit got the best of his body temperature and we called it a day.

Viz about 30 ft on the first dive, did the second about lunchtime and the DUI demo folks and numerous classes had had their predicted effect and 'twas down to about 15 or so by noon.

An un-named person dropped their mask off the dock and yours truly pulled the dump valves and headed down after it - Can't claim a mushroom cloud (no atomics used at Normandy anyway...), but the murk cloud from a jurassic flesh-bomb impacting the bottom and going scrubba-dub-dub in dead leaves and muck was quite something to behold. Did come up with mask, however, and the rest washed off quite nicely. Tactical bombing at its' best.

'bout all there is to say - Looking forward to another run north!

Ya Ya, it certainly was an interesting recovery mission Tom. I'll have the next two weekends free...will prob hit Gilboa or another quarry then. Anybody else going to be running around up there?
