I'm a Fish!
For anyone who is interested,
Glenn is now carrying my new backpack rigs and he also has 2 of them for rental/demo. Anybody interested in seeing one and trying it out can do so at their leisure anytime the dive shop is open, you no longer have to wait for a demo. I have also designed a doubles mounting system for the plate and I will have my doubles down there all set up ready to dive for people to check out and test dive it if they want to. I will bring the doubles rig down there Saturday the 18th and leave it.

ZKY,

Thanks for your continued support of local diving. I really wanted to get down there to see and check out your stuff a couple weeks ago. March 4-5 was my first weekend off from Ski Racing and Skiing in 6 weeks, so it was a perfect opportunity. Then that Thursday my sinuses went on strike (still acting up now, 11 days later) so diving was not a good idea. I was really bummed. Hopefully I will get another chance when Ski Race season is over.

I think this should be in the market place part of the forums

Mods please move

No Way Mods, this is a part of our local diving community, one of our own starting something at the grassroots level and as a fellow nor-cal diver I want to be the first to know about these sorts of things, instead of hunting for it in the marketplace. Mods, please do not molest this thread.

Congrats to ZKY for putting in the work and the effort to create something that all of us can appreciate. It's great to know that we all know about this. Eric, I hope the 06 campout is still on for the fall. I am gonna have to get me one of those plates.

I agree with Ben. Despite providing a service that no doubt many folks will take advantage of, the original post on this thread is commercial in nature. The marketplace was created for such things thus this thread belongs in there. It's along the same lines as instructors advertising their classes in the general NorCal forum, there's no room for it. Do you really want to sift through pages of "Come join my AOW class for only $125" or "Peak Performance Buoyancy, this weekend for only $75-" posts to get to the threads you actually want to read?

Again, kudos to ZKY for developing and manufacturing these plates, but advertising has no place in the general NorCal forum.

I don't really care where this post ends up, but congratulations to ZKY for getting a small business off the ground. It's always nice to see someone living the dream.

I think the post should stay here, I would not have seen it in the Marketplace forum. I've seen the setup and it is of superior craftsmanship. Anytime anyone recommends a particular dive shop or dive boat, that is a form of advertising as well, should those posts be moved? Hope to see Eric this weekend at the breakwater to try his backplate setup.

Dang it!!! I was just out there today. Too bad I didn't see this post until tonight. Do you have any pics of your rig you can post or send me via PM?

While I haven't had an opportunity to dive it, I took a look at it this weekend. Eric, you never mentioned that its not only a great piece of dive gear, but could easily be mistaken for a piece of art. The finish work is incredible. You can really see the effort, detail and thought put into this, especially when compared to other offerings on the market.
