It is off of Double lines, the easiest way to get to it, swim past the trail of tears, instead go to the first jump to the left, there should be a knot on the line near it. Jump over to that line, swim to the first Tee and turn around. On your right side behind a partial wall is the Double Lines Whale Bone.
I've never heard of the trail of tears in there, but sounds like it should be right about here? I may try to check that bone out on my next dive there!

You will see it off to your left, it is the massively destroyed path where a lot of people have run reels to get to the Whale Bone.

I'm trying to find the Insulation Room Whale Bone, and I hoping it doesn't take a half a dozen dives to find it. So I've heard that if you go past the broom stick you went to far. Is that based on taking a left or right at the first Tee? Any other tips, it looks pretty black based on the pictures I saw from the restoration.

How the F have I never noticed that broomstick? Or maybe I saw it and forgot about it

Yep, good description. Find the huge know, run your line off to the left.

Never heard of trail of tears either.

I also never knew why the bone line was called the bone line until @kensuf showed me.

Ah, I meant see the bone itself; I was going to follow your first directions and avoid that area (even moreso after that description)

I prefer to go a little farther up double lines and run a jump to the passage angled back behind you on the left (in blue) and just take that line to the bone, but either way works!

Yeah that blue route is the route I am describing. The yellow route is the trail of tears.

Yes the yellow route is shorter but you are running a reel beating an area up unnecessarily.

The jump is up tied to a pillar.

Never gone that back route. I don’t think I’ve ever taken that Left jump. But I agree that the area where you run your reel doesn’t really have good tie offs so you can line trap yourself and beat up the area more than necessary
