It was COLD. I left Lexington about 5:30 am and it there was a light rain falling. By the time I got to Dayton OH there was snow on the ground.

The air temp at Gilboa was in the mid 30's and my computer had the water temp as 52. Vis was about 40-50 feet on the shallow side. There was a nice steam coming off the water all day.

We got some good dives in and spent alot of time in the bunk house trying to stay warm.

The board members that were there were:

ME
Mr. and Mrs. Ber Rabbit
Big T and his brother.
Brian (sorry don't remember you board name...if you posted occationally I might)
wreckncaver - I hope the attack from the OH Piranha heals quickly
MikeSM
MikeFererra, his wife and several other folks he needs to get on the board.
DSJ
And apparently ICUROCK, Ray and Nitrox Junkie were there but I didn't know it until I got back here and saw thier posts. I wish I had got more of a chance to talk to you, but you were in that warm RV hiding from us. I hope you will dive with us again and we can get to know each other.

I hope I didn't forget anyone.

We talked alot and I really enjoyed getting to know those that I didn't before this trip.

I can't wait to head back up that way and dive with you all again.

The only thing that scares me is there is enough people up there now to start your own chapter. I would hate for you all to defect from the KPP.

I hope we can all get together again soon.

Chad

Nothin like a little snow and cold weather to keep the viz in good shape. It was a good time, even though I was one of the 5 divers who were cold & wet between dives...I do have a couple of pics, but they are all on the surface and there aren't any of the group....who dropped the ball there???? OH well, we'll have to get together in the spring when the campin will be better and we can build a big ol fire to cook over.

Anyway, it was great meeting all of you, and I hope to be able to dive with you guys again in the future.

I was there with Ray & ICUROC in the warm RV (Thanks Ray) as well and again had a great time. The visability was a little touch and go especially in the sump but still a great dive. It was also nice to again see some more members from the board getting together to say bye bye to gravity. :scuba: :

Dang, was the whole board there an just no one told me. Nitrox Junkie, I added you to the list. I am sorry I didn't get to talk to you while we were there. I hope you guys will dive with us again. We weren't too scary were we.

Chad.

BTW, I was in the black step side truck.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and introduced themselves. It was a FINE day for diving! Vis was awesome on the shallow side except for one little spot where everyone was wading in and putting on fins. The "smoke on the water" was enchanting to watch. Too bad you're not allowed to fish there because the trout were biting!:D

Just wanted to say it was great meeting so many from this board! Diving was pretty good for Gilboa, except for those pesky trout. (Battle wounds from the man-eating fish, or should I call them women bitting fish!:sharky: ) I hope we can do this again sometime now that I have thawed out.

Were you the nice Lady passing out the info reguarding the new quarry in Detroit? Just wondering. If so I am the one you asked about knowing the lost Yooper. I think soon KPP is going to head back up again. We will all have to meet there and swarm the shallow entry again. We will have to put up a sign saying Scuba Board Entry & Exit. How is your finger doing?

Jeff

Yes I was the one with the info on the new quarry. It was great meeting so many for this board and hope to be able to join the KPP next time they dive up this way. Finger is finally healing, got a little infected. Next time I'm biting that piranha trout back. Had to repair the tiny little hole he put in my glove.

Hope to see you at the dive site next time. You may have to check out that new dive site when it opens next year. I'll keep you posted.

I'd arm myself with a pistol sized spear gun....

hey just saw the post. I was there that weekend and wish I would have seen something before it would have been nice to get to talk with some of you face to face. We are there almost every sunday (as long as the wives allow it) and any info on a Detroit dive quarry would be great. feel free to email me at Ghettomedic @aol.com. Hope to see ya

:) Tacmed
BTW we are usually the big Black Ford F350 that says My Brother Floors on the side.
