In Seattle, go to fifth D. If he’s a dir nut, they’ll have the stuff he needs. Has he had the dir-f class yet? They have them fairly regularly there and from what I’ve hear it’s well worth the $. Maybe you could both go together.

LOL..thankfully a non-smoker....plus, I have to be careful to which hose i take. AN OOA situation may be extreamly fun for him at that point...but not sure what kinda air I 'd get from the 3rd hose....lol

You could talk him into going to his favorite LDS for some sort of newbie reason. Then while there be sure to look at all of the equipment and the available classes, just pay attention to what he likes or is interested in. B/Fs are used to being dragged all over the place to shop, this time he won't mind.
