Giant Cusk Eel?

Saw this guy the other day and kind of caught me by suprise ! Wasn't expecting to see a big ugly fish staring back at me when i stuck my head in here.... My guess is that it is a big cusk eel....I dunno...It is about 3 feet long, and has an "eel" body. I 've been back a couple times and he just hangs out under a ledge.. In about 30' water. Happy diving

It's a Conger Eel. FYI Cusk eels have an obvious beard.

Over here in Kauai, at Koloa Landing, we have a resident Conger Eel that hangs out in the same spot.

Pretty neat!

There is a hole on the left side of Sharks Cove (Oahu)that has contained a conger for the last 4 yrs!
