Hey all
I figured I would post this here since from what I know of most, at least the ones I know,,, dove with,,, Well, stood on the same soil as just didn't know it, this might be of interest. Now I don't know if any of you have been or not but last year was my first year going and it was a blast. I see you have some posts about doing some dives to the great lakes. My hat goes off to you for that, but there is no better way to get started that to visit the Ghost Ship festival in Milwaukee. There are three such shows that I know of and this is by far the best for a couple of reasons. The biggest is that you only pay once and get to see everything. It ran just one day last year but I hear that it is going to be two days this coming year. Some other shows I have heard of you have to pay for almost everything else but getting in the door. That could make a costly trip if you want to listen to all of the speakers. We were going from sun up till sun down last year and didn't have enough time. Saw some great speakers talking about some awsome subjects(all dealing with the greatlakes) and even had a chance to have 11 of my great lakes shipwreck books signed. Being at one already, I feel making it a two day event will be a great addition and make it twice as fun as before. Now take a look here at the site. http://www.ghost-ships.org/2000fest.asp Poke around and give it some thought as to whether any of ya would like to join me in 2003. It will be a great bunch of fun and well worth the drive. Going as a Scuba Board group would make for a fun time and be kinda cool to boot.
Thanks for listening
Jeff
