I work a weekend contract and only get 4 weekends off a year. It's very difficult for me get two off in a row ( almost impossible ). For the last several years I've been going back and forth to Grand Cayman and Mexico as they're easy to get to any day of the week.

I'm planning a dive trip for 10 nights Mon-Thurs ( with one weekend off in the middle ) and would like to consider Roatan.

Is there a way to get in? It seems most of the direct flights are on Saturday. Can I fly into San Pedro and get a transfer of some sort? Would the transfers be dependable?

Thanks!

TACA from San Salvador to Roatan Via LA or Maybe Huston? Depends on time of year! Good luck, you might try Roatan Charters!

Last May we couldn't seem to do that either from the States. Even going through Houston was a 20hr. ordeal with two stops. We ended up on the Saturday direct flight.

I think your best bet is to fly through San Pedro Sula and catch a shuttle flight from there.

This is easily done out of Miami, do a search from MIA to SAP. There is a flight that leaves MIA at 6am and connects in El Salvador to arrive in SAP at 9.45 am.

From there you could get a connecting flight to roatan that day easily. There is a direct flight from MIA leaving 13.45 arriving 15.45 whichconnects with a Taca/Islena flight to Roatan.

My advice is book the both flights in advance, but seperatley to get the best price. Taca holds its Roatan flight until its Miami flight gets in as a general rule as they usually have a few passangers needing to make the connection.
